Legoland, Florida: A Visitor’s Guide
Introduction: Do you have a LEGO lover in your family? How about a theme park lover? Either one will be in heaven at Legoland Florida. Legoland Florida is located about 40 miles from Disney World and takes 45 minutes to get there. It is a great escape from the more hectic Disney World and Universal Studios parks and was a much needed relaxing day for us in between visits to the Disney Parks. You will find a unique combination of rides, entertainment, shops, and food.
About the Park
Legoland Florida is a 150-acre theme park in Winter Haven, FL. Legoland is, as the name applies, based off of some of the most well known Lego characters and bricks that allow kids of all ages to build, create, and explore the deepest parts of their imagination. Legoland sits on the property that was once home to the Cypress Gardens and a small section of the park is dedicated to preserving that history.
Legoland consists of the park and a water park. The park is divided into several section, each with a unique theme. Throughout the park you will also find plenty of fast food options, snacks, and a sit down all you can eat buffet,.
Legoland Florida is best suited for families with children from age 2 to 12, but even the adults will have fun!
Hours
Hours vary, but the park is generally open from 10am to 5pm and the waterpark is open from 12pm to 4pm (current hours due to COVID restrictions).
How Much Time is Needed?
Legoland is a fairly small park and the wait times are not horrendous, making it easier to navigate through the park. Legoland can easily be explored in one day. Two or three days would be enough to experience the entirety of the park.

- Vacation Package: Starts at $188.75/person and includes a one night stay at one of Legoland’s resorts, 2 day park and waterpark tickets, breakfast, and a welcome gift for the kids upon arrival.
These prices reflect current prices when tickets are purchased online. Walk-up tickets will be higher priced.
Parking
Parking is available with standard and preferred parking options. Standard parking is $23/car. Preferred parking is $33 and will get you close to the main entrance gates.

Package Pick-Up
Legoland offers a package pick-up service, allowing you to make purchases throughout the park at any of the stores and then pick them up on your way out. No extra baggage to carry around the park all day!
Park Sections

The Beginning
The Beginning is the front of the park and includes the park entry and ticket booth section, guest services, and many shops and restaurant options. This is also where you will find the package pick up area.
Mini Land USA
Mini Land USA is one of the most impressive sections of the park. Mini Land USA contains scenes from across the country made entirely of Legos. The entire display is made up of over 32 million Legos. Scenes include California, New York, Washington D.C., the Daytona International Speedway, Florida, Las Vegas, the Kennedy Space Center, and a Pirates area.
Duplo Valley
Duplo Valley is the perfect section for younger children. This section features a splash pad area, a Duplo tractor ride, a Duplo train ride, and several play areas where the children can build and create.

Lego Kingdoms
Lego Kingdoms is a medieval themed section with a play area, Joust ride, and a couple roller coasters. You can also grab some soft serve ice cream or grab a smoked turkey leg.
Land of Adventure
Land of Adventure includes more rides, another play section, a safari ride experience, Beetle Bounce, Coastersaurus, and Lost Kingdom Adventure, an indoor “shooting” game.
Lego City
Lego City gives kids the opportunity to drive their own Lego boat or car or race to the rescue at the Rescue Academy. You can also find the comedy show the Lego City Brick Builders and the indoor play space Tot Spot.
Imagination Zone
Imagination Zone is an indoor area where kids can get out of the sun and enjoy some great hands-on experiences. Imagination Zone features include the Building Zone (Lego building), Creation Zone (Duplo Lego building), Flight Zone (air themed building), GameSpot (interactive Lego videogames), Water Zone (sea themed building), and Wheel Zone (cars, trucks, and trains building).
Lego Technic
Lego Technic features a toddler play area, The Great Lego Race (mix of a roller coaster and virtual reality experience), and the Aquazone Wave Racers.
Cypress Gardens
The Cypress Gardens will let you escape the park and take a walk with nature. Inside the gardens you will find a variety of plant species, including azaleas and camellias.
Heartlake City
Heartlake City is a small section of the park that has some food and shopping options. The main attractions are the Heartlake Stepping Tones Fountain and Mia’s Riding Adventure.
Lego Ninjago World
The Lego Ninjago World is home to many fun adventures, including rock climbing, Jay’s Lightening Drill, Kai’s Spinners, a Lego building area, and character experiences with Kai and Nya.
Legoland Waterpark
Cool off at the Legoland Waterpark, with classic waterpark rides with a unique spin. Visit the Lego wave pool, take a ride of the build a raft lazy river, have fun at the Joker Soaker, and take a ride of the water slides.
The Lego Movie World
The Lego Movie World is a fairly new addition to the park that brings the scenes from the Lego Movie to life. This section of the park features rides, food, character experiences, and more shops.
Fun Town
In Fun Town, you will find the Grand Carousel, a 4D theater, the mini figure market where you can create your own Lego people, and mini figure trading.

Entertainment
The 4D Theater: Catch one of three 4D movies at the 4D theater followed by character meet and greets outside the theater.
- LEGO City 4D – Officer in Pursuit: Watch as the police officers change a thief through busy city streets.
- The LEGO Movie 4D: A New Adventure- Watch as a character, Risky Business, works to open a theme park similar to Legoland.
- LEGO NINJAGO: Master of the 4th Dimension- Attend a special training session of the Ninjago heros.
The LEGO City Brick Builders: A comedy show featuring the Lego City Brick Builders as they juggle and perform stunts while working on a construction project at City Hall. The show takes place daily in June and July at 11:30 a.m., 1:45 p.m. and 4:00 p.m, and weekends the end of July through Mid August at the same times.
Mini-Figure Trading: Bring your own or create a mini-figure in the Mini Figure Market and find staff members located throughout the park that you can trade with.
Character Experiences at Legoland
Throughout the park you can find some of your favorite Lego characters, including:
- Master Wu and Kai & Nya in Ninjago World
- Emmet’s Apartment in LEGO Movie World-meet Emmet and other LEGO movie characters.
- Pop up meet and greets can be found throughout the park, usually outside of shops in The Beginning section of the park.
VIP Experiences

Dining
Pizza and Pasta Buffet: While the food is nothing to die for, the pizza and pasta buffet is a great option for families. The food is family friendly and with the all you can eat style, it will fill you up! The restaurant also has a salad bar if you are looking for something more on the healthy side. The Pizza and Pasta Buffet is located in Fun Town.
Granny’s Apple Fries: A stop at Granny’s Apple Fries is a must for any visit to Legoland. These apple fries are covered with cinnamon and sugar and served with a whipped cream dipping sauce. Granny’s Apple Fries is located in Fun Town.
Kingdom Cones: Grab a soft serve ice cream cone, served in a waffle cone, and choose for a great selection of flavor bursts. Kingdom Cones is located in the LEGO Kingdoms section.
Burger Kitchen: Take your pick of a variety of burgers, including veggie burgers, chicken burgers, fish sandwiches and combine them with a side of crispy fries. The Burger Kitchen is located in Lego City.
Funnel Cake Factory: The perfect snack, choose between fresh fruit, powered sugar, or ice cream as a topping on your funnel cake. The Funnel Cake Factory is located in the LEGO Technic section.
Ninja Kitchen Food Truck: A fairly new addition to the park, find a variety of Ninja snacks at the Ninja Kitchen Food Truck. Options include egg rolls, spring rolls, and bao buns. The Ninja Kitchen Food Truck is located in the LEGO Ninjago World.
Shopping
The Big Shop: The Big Shop is the one stop shop in Legoland Florida where you can find pretty much anything LEGO related. Find LEGO toy sets, exclusives, apparel, and other souvenirs.
Lego Factory Experience: The LEGO Factory Experience is a great way to buy certain LEGO brick types in bulk. You can also get your name engraved on a LEGO brick here.
Mini figure Market: A unique experience in Fun Town where you can create and build your own mini figures.
Driving School Store: The Driving School Store in LEGO city will give your new driver the opportunity to create his/her own driver’s license before hitting the road at the Ford Driving School or Boating School.
Special Events

Heros Weekend
Heros Weekend is a fun and educational experience for the kids that teaches them about fire safety. The event is hosted by the National Fire Protection Association. Visitors can participate in tons of fun activities while learning how to be fire safe!
Brick or Treat
Brick or Treat is Legoland’s Halloween event where visitors can enjoy the park’s regular attractions and some extra treats with trick or treating and special character meet and greets.
Holidays at Legoland
Legoland’s Christmas celebration will bring you many special shows, delicious treats, special character meet and greets, and fireworks on select nights. You can also enjoy the Kids’ New Year party.

Things to Know
- Strollers, ECVs, and wheelchairs are available for rental at the front of the park. They are rented on a first come, first serve basis.
- Download and use the Legoland Florida mobile app. The app will make navigating the park easier with an interactive park map and wait times. You can also find show times and dining information through the app.
- Be sure to check out Legoland’s Family Guide if you are visiting with small children. The guide will give you everything you need to know about what rides are appropriate for the smallest members in your travel party.
- Hit the roller coasters first. The roller coasters are the rides that tend to have the longest wait times, so hitting then first thing in the morning will help reduce those wait times.
